Glamping
At Bedrule Old Manse, we have two luxury glamping pods: Blackthorn and Hornbeam.
The pods are designed for couples (adults only) with a king size bed, sofa, dining table & chairs, bathroom with walk-in shower, loo & hand-basin, plus a fully-fitted and equipped kitchen area for rustling up something delicious.
The kitchen area has a dishwasher, refrigerator with ice box, oven, two-ring hob and wine fridge. All cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils are supplied, along with an iron and ironing board.
In addition, we provide:
Hypoallergenic pillows and duvet
Egyptian cotton bedding (or brushed cotton in the cooler months)
Towels and bathmat
Smart TV with Freeview
Free WiFi
Built-in Bluetooth speaker system
They are super-insulated with double glazed windows and door and underfloor heating.
There’s a skylight above the bed so you can lie back and look at the stars, plus a black-out blind in case the clear night skies are too bright.
Outside your pod is a deck area with comfy seating, a bistro table & chairs and festoon lights. The deck is partly glazed so that in the event of rain (unlikely, we know, in the Scottish Borders), you can relax on the outdoor sofa while enjoying a glass of something refreshing, admiring Mother Nature giving her all
Each pod has a fire pit with cooking grille and bench seating. Cook your dinner, toast some marshmallows or simply sit back and warm your toes. Barbeque lighting and cooking tools are supplied with a small stock of wood. Additional supplies can be bought on site.
The pods are accessed via a field gate on the drive with automatic lighting for those late arrivals or returns.
The pods are dog-friendly with a two-dog maximum in each. We make a small charge per dog and ask that you let us know at time of booking. We ask that dogs are kept off the bedding and the furniture, both inside the pod and on the deck. There’s an outside tap and hose for washing muddy paws and we also supply dog towels for our doggy guests. Dogs are free to run in the field provided they are kept under control and (literally) don’t scare the horses. We ourselves have two Labrador bitches , mother and daughter, who are free-range and sociable so they’ll probably want to come and introduce themselves during your stay.
